Does your teen spend countless hours playing video games? How about you or your husband? Computer games, Video games, MMO games, even simpler candy puzzle games can keep our attention for hours. But instead of spending an entire evening playing someone else’s creation, what if your teen was BUILDING his own game? Tech Talent South is offering a two weekend course where your 14 year old (or even your husband) can learn to create, code and play a entire video game. Try out the course for a fun gamer hobby, or even as a base for a radical career change in our post-recession economy.
When you sign up for the Intro to Game Development course, you’ll be immersed for two weekends. The next class offering is March 29-30 2014 and April 5-6 2014. Each class day lasts from 9:30am to 4:00pm with a lunch break. You’ll be sure to walk out of the beginner class with scads more knowledge than when you entered – you’ll be amazed!
Tech Talent South’s Intro to Game Development class is being held at 454 Irwin St NE Atlanta, GA 30312, set up in the Old Fourth Ward. If you’ve ever been there, you’ll know that it’s a super trendy startup center with tons of entrepreneurial activity, so you’re sure to be inspired by new and exciting things. The course tuition is $850 with open enrollment (no interview is necessary). You’ll learn such skills as developing custom behaviors and animation, scenery and character design, and utilizing physics engines. No previous knowledge of coding or skillsets are required so whether you’re a 16-year-old teenager looking to write your very first game or a 60 something searching for a hobby or even that radical career change, Tech Talent South’s classes are a great perfect starting point. It’s a beginner class!!

I actually liked both, but I loved that the Yoplait was already blended. I hate opening up a container of Greek yogurt and seeing it all gloppy, and the Yoplait didn’t have that!
Lindsey Paris says
YUM! I love Yoplait! It’s a winner for me too. Fun post!
Lindsey Paris says
Yoplait is a staple in our house. Though I haven’t tried their Greek variety yet, it does sound delicious!
Lindsey Paris says
Yoplait is awesome! They have such great flavors!
Lindsey Paris says
My husband has tried so many different kinds of the Greek yogurts lately and he LOVES the Yoplait ones. He actually just tried their Greek Yogurt Ice Cream today and LOVED it.
Lindsey Paris says
Yoplait is my favorite yogurt! I have never been a fan of the fruit on the bottom. I love Yoplaits lemon burst original style yogurt, though. YUMMY!

Babies and movies are so tricky! My daughter still won’t sit and she is 3.5. We can get a good hour and then its sketchy. I refuse to let her drink anything because she will use it as an excuse to take frequent potty breaks and I don’t get to enjoy the movie. We have a theater in our home so at this point the closest she gets is going to the basement!
Lindsey Paris says
Woohoo for first movie success! When you start them young like that, they really develop a love for them. π I want to see Frozen too!
Lindsey Paris says
How cool is that? I wish it was up here in Boston because I have a house full of people that I would sign up in a heartbeat!
Lindsey Paris says
That is so awesome – that’s something I’d want to do myself! I actually have a ton of game ideas.
Lindsey Paris says
My husband would LOVE to do something like this. AND we don’t live that far away from Atlanta so I’m going to see if I can get the money together to surprise him with this!!
Lindsey Paris says
what a PERFECT prize! It’s over the course of 4 days, so it’s a good deal, too. Let me know when he makes his game – we’ll play it!
Lindsey Paris says
I usually like to watch HUbs play his – I get into the stories!
Lindsey Paris says
Maybe they will expand up north for you! π
Lindsey Paris says
i’ve been good at eating greek yogurt in place of regular yogurt. i’ll have to give yoplait a try
Lindsey Paris says
I actually like them both a lot. It would be hard to choose.
Lindsey Paris says
I love greek yogurt – seriously both myself and 6 year old son are addicted! I haven’t tried Yoplait’s yet, but I definitely will after reading your post!
Lindsey Paris says
I am so skeptical to try greek yogurt other than as a substitute for sour cream. I tried some one time and just about lost it! But, this actually looks quite delicious and I think it will be my next purchase. I like to give things a fair shake!

My ex husband would totally die to do something like this. He is such a video game nerd and loves anything techy. I wish they had something like this in our area. I know he would enjoy this fully.
Lindsey Paris says
My husband would enjoy this. He doesn’t get to play his video games as much now that we have a baby in the house, but he will sneak in a little time when possible.
Lindsey Paris says
Wow, this is awesome. I’m passing it on to my husband. He makes apps and I know he’d love to get into something like this.
Lindsey Paris says
This would be so fun for my husband who loves stuff like this!
Lindsey Paris says
Your son is adorable! You are a brave soul for attempting this but it looks like it went well!
Lindsey Paris says
I bet my cousin would LOVE to do something like this! He is really into new tech and learning how to do things!
Lindsey Paris says
My husband considered going into game development. It might still be a fun hobby for him π
Lindsey Paris says
That’s a great way to get teenagers into computer coding – by showing them how to create a video game. why not have them do something that they love and most teens I know certainly love to play video games!
Lindsey Paris says
Totally! It’s the best getaway you can buy as a “husband prize” – they are so difficult to buy for!
Lindsey Paris says
He makes apps? How cool is that?! This 4 day camp is right up his alley, then.
Lindsey Paris says
Then, what a perfect “camp” to send him to! The guys are so hard to buy gifts for, this is perfect for yours!
Lindsey Paris says
That’s a great course to dabble in the field and make sure it’s something you’re interested in before diving in full university-style. Sounds fun anyhow though!
Lindsey Paris says
My kids love the movies, they are 5 and 3…we started them at a young age!
Lindsey Paris says
I haven’t seen Frozen yet, but I plan to. What fun to bring your little one to their first movie. I remember my kids first movie experience, they loved it! They honestly loved the arcade outside of the movie theater more though π
Lindsey Paris says
Aww, sounds like it was a great first movie experience! My daughter reeeally wants to see Frozen.
Lindsey Paris says
What a fun time. My girls still haven’t seen it..I should plan on buying it!
