… because “P” stands for potty, and pee pee, and, “Perhaps I am crazy, because my 17 month old has been using the potty for two days straight and peeing on command!”
That’s right. I’ve been sitting Red on the potty for a few months now before bath time, in order to get him used to sitting on it, etc. Mom visited this week, and before his bath, she set him on it, per the usual, asked him to pee, and with a small dousing of water on the nether regions, he felt the urge and so went.
That was Tuesday night. Wednesday produced 3 successful pees (he was at school all morning). Today, there were 5 successful ones. With only 2 real days of potty training, I find this to be unbelievable He’s even saying “pee pee” like us when he goes.
I’ve known several kids over the course of my life (preschool, friends’ kids, etc) that haven’t been potty trained until they were well over 3, or tried a few times and it failed. I know that I must be vigilant. This is the one thing I must concentrate on while my floors go to hell and the roast burns up in the oven. But I will do it. I will keep on trying with Red until he verbally reminds me that he has to go, and as we have the potty-training-#2-battle.
It will be hard. I will tear my hair out (hopefully not with this cute haircut) and I will try not to talk about it as the sole topic of conversation. But those who speak to me must be aware that I am a crazy first time mother with the most brilliant child that ever lived. Oops; There goes the crazy.
Wish me luck.

How has it been going? We never tried with our first two before 2 except a quick chance before baths.
