What’s your dream? Is it to create outfits inspired by your nerdy nature and then talk about them with your friends? Then we *might* share a dream. I stumbled upon the #Disneybound Instagram challenge in March of 2019, and with zero preparation, jumped in the day it started. My first unplanned snag from my closet was for Tangled, choosing a Vladimir Disneybound for his furry vest and affinity for unicorns…
A Tangled Disneybound Character
Did I have a tiny Unicorn? Nope, I sure did not. But a tiny glittery tsum tsum worked just fine for a momentary photo opp. Had I been able to retool this Disneybound into a proper Parks outfit, I would add a few iconic elements to round it out. My dress and vest were stock pieces from my fall wardrobe, but I still wanted to give off a Viking vibe with leather, braids and chunky accessories.
Vladimir Disneybound Elements
This Gray Women’s Flowy Tank Dress is super flattering and has POCKETS. What more is there in life? Pair it with a fuzzy or furry sherpa vest and wrap it across your midsection. Vlad’s furry vest separates him from the other Vikings in the tavern, despite his short on-screen time.
After your base pieces are together, it’s time for accessories. I created this Disneybound from pieces I already had in my closet, so while you may get more creative or themed with it, I was pulling from items I owned! A simple black leather belt goes along with the Viking vibe when placed overtop of the furry vest. This one from Amazon is basic enough to be worn on the regular. I already had black boots from Target (that desperately need to be replaced!) but these cute zippered ankle boots could achieve a lot of looks!
Next up, Vladimir’s ceramic unicorn touches. While I don’t advise wearing porcelain or ceramic unicorn as jewelry, these sterling silver unicorn pieces are great nods to Vlad’s collection. My daughter ADORES unicorns, so I swiped a few items from her and used them for the Tangled costume. This simple unicorn pendant is inexpensive and ships fast. The unicorn silver bangle is still, well, badass, according to its engraving. That makes it perfect for a Vladimir Disneybound.
Find some of my other favorite Disneybound like George Sanderson (Monsters Inc), Darla (from Finding Nemo), and Pink Cinderella in my style category!
