Walgreens Helps Answer My Pain Questions #shop

Disclosure: As a part of a sponsored post, for Collective Bias, I sought pain relief at Walgreens with the #walgreensanswers program.

There’s something you might not know about me by just looking, and even knowing me for a few years, one certain fact might escape our conversations.  I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease at the age of 12. I contracted the spirochete and didn’t develop the correct antibodies for it because I went undiagnosed for a little over a year.  Because of that, I have terrible arthritis, joints and fatigue. (Maybe Hubs is one of the only people that understands my need to nap so often!)  I often need pain relief, in the form of medication, relaxation and through other natural methods.  Luckily, I was able to find some personalized answers to my pain problems at Walgreens.

When I logged on to Walgreens’ website to research my medication choices, I found a neat little feature with the 24/7 pharmacist chat.  At any point during my day, I can log on to the website, click into a conversation, and ask a true professional questions about my pain and get the answers I need.

I was helped by Rose, who was attentive and informative, and got me the answers I needed in a timely fashion.

Rose was very helpful and gave me some medication types that I could use for my arthritis as well as some ideas to naturally relieve my pain that I get after my runs.  I don’t want to stop training for my half marathon at Walt Disney World, and since I’ve already been running at a fair pace for a year, I know that I’m healthy enough to do it – I just need some pain relief help now and then. I had considered some medications, but Rose offered ideas like heat patches, balms and gels.   What a great idea!

I headed to my local Walgreens and got even more help from the friendly faces behind the pharmacy counter.  The two ladies I spoke to guided me to the pain relief aisle and helped me locate the arnica gel among a sea of options.  Acetaminophen medications abounded, and they helped me until I made the right selection for myself as well as my situation.  I chose the Walgreens brand acetaminophen targeted for arthritis as well as some epsom salts to soak my muscles in and some arnica gel to massage into my joints and aching parts.  There were multiple brands and price points for me to choose from, and that made me a happy camper.

This past weekend, Hubs and I ran another 5k as part of our half marathon training, and combined with my tech week for The Producers, I was one sore girl.  Joints aching, muscles tired, and sleep deprived like you wouldn’t believe. I combined my three pain relief suggestions into my care routine, and I truly do feel much better for it. The pharmacists made me feel like I was valued as a customer and a patient and getting rid of my pain was important.

I had no idea that epsom salts were such an asset after runs. I need to try that! And immediate, personalized help is so invaluable – I love that Walgreens offers this service!

I’m here to tell you that I tried it, and it was something I hadn’t thought of before. It felt WONDERFUL. I didn’t run today, but I’m thinking about taking the pharmacists’ advice and taking another dip. So nice!
