Everynight, I make a little pile of pacifiers in Red’s crib. As the night goes along, he loses one in sleep, moves around and reaches for his pile until he finds another one. The pile starts out at least 4 deep.
And then ends like this:
It gets to the point at the end of the week where pacis were to be plentiful and then are more scarce than the Dodo bird.

Usually, I find them littered on the floor as Red will toss them out, or let them fall through the slats. Example, here:
I bought Red some new ones last week. This one had a picture of a Dragon on it, for Nonna, who likes to call herself “Dragon”. And a knight, which is very sweet, and stands for “Nighthawk” – T.
It was at this point when I decided to make one last hunt for the pacis. They had to be here somewhere – unless Red had them for a midnight snack. And after tearing apart the bedsheets, bumpers, I finally found a small stash.
See ’em? |
A close up, for those of you who didn’t see them before. Oh yes – the long lost ones I’d been looking for, for a week. I don’t think Red intentionally put them there – as I watch from the video monitor, red will reach for a toy, and absentmindedly drop them from his lips into the toy hammock!
So, good. I found them! But days later, they were missing again. And I’ve yet to find the stash. Here we go again!
