Okay, y’all. It’s been a while since I saw my buddies in the theatre. With the birth of Scarlett, I had to step back from designing shows because I couldn’t balance the workload with the kids any longer. Having Red and remaining working wasn’t too hard; my in-laws were darling to help me care for him so much during the early years. But as we moved farther from them, I was making less than I would have paid in childcare and had to pull back. Nowadays, I retain private clients like Almost Elton John and work for you, here on the blog!
City Springs Theatre Season Announcements
But I can’t tell you how WONDERFUL it was to see the folks from the Atlanta theatre community pull together to create the City Springs Theatre in Sandy Springs. The beautiful, large, well-put-together company has already produced 42nd Street and Elf, performing to record crowds of 4200 season subscribers (out of 8000 seats). Can you believe that? Crazy popular!! The season moves on with South Pacific and Hairspray before breaking for the 2019-2020 season later this year. The upcoming titles were announced live this past weekend to founding patrons, and I captured it on Instagram. Watch the excitement unfold below in the VIDEO:
I’m glad to see such community support of professional theater amongst Atlanta’s thriving film division. The arts are alive and well, and it makes my heart sing. And speaking of singing, that’s just what the patrons were treated to during the Season Soiree! These 4 talented triple threats graced the stage with a live band to sing selections from the upcoming season at City Springs Theatre.
Season Soiree
The City Springs Theatre hosted it’s very special founding patrons to dinner and entertainment on-stage at the Byers Theatre in Sandy Springs. The goal of the night was to thank them for participating in the launch of the new company as well as to release the titles for the upcoming season! Catch all of these shows at the City Springs Theatre during the 2019-2020 season. Single tickets and season packages available!
