“Even the weather seemed to be celebrating; as June approached, the days became cloudless and sultry, and all anybody felt like doing was strolling onto the grounds and flopping down on the grass with several pints of iced pumpkin juice, perhaps playing a casual game of Gobstones or watching the giant squid propel itself dreamily across the surface of the lake.” ― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
It’s that pumpkin juice I always wanted to taste. The late midnight evenings at our local Kroger, where diehard fans of the Harry Potter books stood to purchase the crispy hardcover books, lined up on the conveyor belt. We counted the minutes. We raced home in pairs, reading until the sun rose and then talking the entire rest of the day about what we had consumed. The text. The images. Imagining the Pumpkin Pasties and the Pumpkin Juice. I finally got my act together this fall and perfected my own special Pumpkin Juice Recipe inspired by Harry Potter. It’s not too sweet, perfectly spiced and extremely fall. HUNGRY for more? The recipe isn’t pumpkin based at all, nor does it have a hint of winter squash (what canned pumpkin really is!). My Harry Potter Pumpkin Juice is best served cold, shaken and not stirred. Mix up a half-gallon and watch it disappear like magic.
Be sure to use real maple syrup when you concoct this potion. It’s easier to blend and has a more organic composition. You’ll also notice that it doesn’t glob around like the fake pancake syrups do. The pumpkin spice goes a long way, so shake lightly and add more if you want a stronger flavor. This Harry Potter Pumpkin Juice recipe easily doubles for friends over a game of Gobstones!

Harry Potter Golden Snitch Chocolates
To make these flighty treats, simply attach fun foam cut wings to Ferrer Rocher chocolates with some glue (you’ll need to toothpick them in place while they dry or you can use a touch of hot glue. Be prepared to melt your chocolate if this is the route you choose. My kids loved this instant treat courtesy of the pre-wrapped golden foil. Affix them to your Harry Potter Pumpkin Juice for a sweet fall treat!

I made this for a Halloween Party we had last year and it was a huge hit! I bought a pumpkin shaped clear beverage dispenser and it was consumed more than any other beverage. We love it! Even the kids!
