When the cat’s away, the mice will play. But what happens when the mice go away? The cat decides to take a nap and not clean the house. Or dust (well, I never dust, so there’s that).
The men folk have a little place in south Georgia they visit called “the huntin’ camp”. No actual hunting takes place. Some dead trees are shot down, squirrels are startled near to death, and beverages are consumed. They don’t even camp out hard – they use trailers! (The girl scout in me is ashamed ;))

Anywho, the weekend finally came, and Hubs packed his bags with blankets, “huntin” clothes, and of course, a few racks of ribs.
Before he left, Hubs made sure to spend some time with Red, since he’d be gone overnight. His first overnight where he left!
Eating lunch! |
When Mama got home from work, Uncle Bama and Uncle Randy (Red’s godfathers) were there to pick up Hubs and take him to South Georgia. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before, but Randy and Bama have a little bet going on who Red loves more. See if you can judge for yourself in the pictures. I think the jury’s still out on this one.
And all you folks out there that work with Hubs, here is evidence that the man can never stop working. He managed to get one email in before he hopped out the door!
I went outside to pack the men folk in, and Red got to sit on the four wheeler for a shot. I think he liked it! He also tried to lick the mud off the handle bars, but Uncle Bama caught him quick!
The boys piled into the truck, and they were off!
The getaway vehicle |
When they came home, they certainly were dirty, and a little worse for the wear after the adventure. But Red and I were glad to have Hubs home safe and sound.
