This was a big deal for us! Tyler works for the U.S. Coast Guard, and having been stationed in every region of North America, his visits are rare, and something to get excited about! I hadn’t seen Tyler in at least 2 years, before I was pregnant with Red. Even with Red’s First Birthday, Tyler had an ankle injury and couldn’t visit until now. After picking him up from the airport, we stopped for some treats – ice cream and floats! Red was happy to have someone push him around and feed him some vanilla yogurt.
After that, we had lots and lots of Tyler’s friends stop by – and one was a special visitor – Phillip! Phillip went to high school with Tyler, and now is all grown up and engaged. I think Mom will be jealous that she didn’t get to visit with this other Redhead! Dooley was happy to have someone else around, too. Tyler’s visit meant extra treats and petting. After all this excitement, it was all we could do to sit on the floor and play, play, play. Tyler was happy to start teaching Red how to roll a ball; or in this case, a block color game. Red simply kicked it around with his feet, but it was sheer happiness.
Check out the little video I shot of them playing together. You can hear Red squealing 🙂
And lastly, we HAD to get a photo of all of us together. I completely forgot to get one on Sunday night, when my best friend and her husband came to dinner, so the tripod had to suffice. And check that out – Red smiled to the flashing camera on the second try! Thank you, Tyler for visiting – we already miss you!
