Thank you to Your Kitchen Table for providing my family with a few meals to test the service. No other compensation was received. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I’m a fairly decent cook when I have time for it. I’ve been recreating and documenting some of my favorite personal and family recipes for the blog like Mom’s One Pot Pasta Fagioli and her fluffy Banana Pudding because these are dishes I cherish and want to share! But with the madness that is working from home combined with the Mom Taxi, I don’t always have the best luck at cooking every night. Takeout and freezer meals have saved my butt more times than I can count. I’ve tried those meal subscriptions boxes, but all that does is save me a shopping trip, and my goodness the trash and wrappers that come with those boxes! I can honestly say that I have found a perfect family meal solution with Your Kitchen Table, which is providing my family with gourmet meal delivery service to our home!
Gourmet Meal Delivery in Cobb County
I’ve been on UBEReats countless times, waiting for Door Dash to serve my area, and glancing in the fridge WISHING food to appear. But I recently had a friend tell me about a local, women-owned business called Your Kitchen Table that will deliver chilled, pre-prepped meals to your door. No chopping, prepping, marinating or seasoning. These entree and side combinations come in half (serves 3 for about $22.50) or full (serves 6 for about $45) sizes with complete ingredient lists for allergies and short prep instructions which may include a short boil, roast, or grill. Many of my meals have taken a glorious 15 minutes from container to table, with only a few roasting meals taking 20-25 for cooking time. These marinated chicken kabobs only took me 15 minutes!
Already Prepared Meals
My family can barely believe what we’ve stumbled onto. The meals come in a large tin container (which I save and reuse or recycle) with minimal trash, and the veggies and proteins are already chopped, seasoned, and marinated. The noodles are pre-boiled and need a quick warm up. The rice or orzo is ready to go. The marinated cool sides are incredibly flavorful and contain only REALY ingredients. Plus they DELIVER. All for amazing prices that I couldn’t get out of the grocery store for…
It was easy to transfer from a try-it reviewer to a full customer. I even spied my delivery lady crossing the street to my neighbor’s home for her meal delivery. This is getting out, people, so you want to GET IN! If you live in Cobb County or are able to stop by one of the pickup locations, you’re going to want to try this unbelievably delicious, local, whole foods meal delivery service!
Your Kitchen Table Menu Options
The Your Kitchen Table menu rotates weekly, and they do a great job of keeping the menu different each month. I’ve been ordering meals for over 6 weeks, and the meals have great variety and so far my family has loved them. I noticed that occasionally, the ladies that own Your Kitchen Table will have a few extra meals, and they may offer them via email, pickup or freeze various items for later purchase, like a Chicken Spaghetti. These make AWESOME freezer meals for “emergency dinners” during busy weeks when you don’t have time to cook. I noticed that there was a “last call” for orders on any given meal via the Facebook Group, so it’s important to get your orders in earlier rather than later to avoid being left out. This is especially important for holiday grill packs that sell out quickly!
Ordering a Your Kitchen Table Meal Delivery
When I was ready to order my first Cobb County Meal delivery, I started on the Menu Page. By selecting a meal from the calendar, I added either a half or a full meal to my cart per the typical online shopping process. Most of the time, as weeks progressed, I would order 2-3 meals at a time to save me from returning for another transaction. Then, I added “YKT Delivery” to my family’s iCal so I remembered that an awesome dinner was on the way!
When the fated Wednesdays arrived, I checked to see if I was home during my delivery window. The owners emailed me the night before to let me know my delivery window. If I knew I was gardening in the back, running errands, or elbow deep in laundry, it’s easy for me to place a cooler on the front porch. The last thing I wanted was a cooled tray of easy-to-spoil chicken going bad in the sun while I put Scarlett down for a nap.
The ladies are very careful about food prep and temperature, so if you aren’t home to answer the door and there’s no cooler placed out, they will not leave your meal… you’ll have to pick it up another way! They do have a few physical pickup locations in Cobb County, so if you are on your way home from work, it’s easy to arrange for one of these locations.
Summary for the TL;DR crowd? Try this amazingly affordable, home-cooked gourmet meals once a week and ditch the prep life. It’s the perfect solution for the busy Atlanta family that still wants to eat well and save a buck. I swear you’ll be happy with Your Kitchen Table!
